What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle but powerful hands-on healing art. It empowers your Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual levels to bring harmony and balance back to your life or Optimal Health. It is linked to Rapid Eye Movement as it is So deeply relaxing that 1 hour of Reiki is the equivalent to 4 hours sleep. It is used throughout the world by people of all creeds and belief systems, Reiki is something that benefits everyone.
The energy involved in Reiki healing is the Universal Energy that surrounds all life. We cannot see this energy without technical assistance because of the frequency and speed that this energy operates on. The Reiki energy flows freely through us when we are open to receiving it.
Young children naturally have Reiki as they are open vessels through which this energy flows down to their hands hence why children can have warm hands. Most children are not aware of this, hence don’t use it. At puberty we are conditioned by society, so we have closed off being open to it.
The two ways to experience this energy are to have a Reiki treatment via a trained practitioner or to learn how to channel the energy for yourself.

Definition of Reiki –What it is?
HOLISTIC comes from the word ‘HOLOS’ of Sixth Century Greece meaning Whole ..
In the Sixth Century, the days before Science, Philosophy and Spirituality were separated, a teacher (Sensee) was also a doctor and a priest and treated their patients on all levels.
Distinctions between the body, mind and spirit were unimportant they were seen as one in the other. Then a split came with a doctor treating the body, the priest treating spirit and the philosopher the mind. This is where imbalances within the different societies emerged. The physical has dominated Western life, appearance, and material goods. Spirituality and growth have been forgotten. As there is no measurement for mental and emotional factors, Western Medicine focuses more on how everything is manifested physically, not focusing on the root cause for disease.
To understand Reiki, you must first understand Energy.
The world around us is primarily understood using the five senses; 1. Seeing 2. Feel 3.Hear 4. Taste 5. Touch, which is very one dimensional, even Science tells us that everything around us is Energy that is constantly moving. Solid matter being energy vibrating at a slow rate enabling us to perceive is as solid. Is we apply energy in the form of heat to a chair it will cause the molecules to vibrate faster causing is to form a different energy, Flames, Heat then Ashes.
Then there is the human body – the bones have a slow vibration, then slightly higher the muscles and fatty tissue, then higher the blood and fluids. Then different vibrations can be perceived such as Karolin photography. Then higher energy vibrations include Ki which flows through the energy channels or meridians in the body. Higher again is our Energy Field or Aura which surrounds our body. Our body like the Universe is a network of interlacing and interconnecting energy patterns which keep us balanced. Ki is Japanese, in China it’s called Qi and India Prana. Ki moves the blood in your body it is your Life Force. You have a subconsciousness and a consciousness. Our Subconsciousness tells our lungs to breathe in and out if we did not breath we could not live. How can we doubt having a vital life force. Our own bodies exist in their current form because of many forces such as our environment, nature, nourishing food, loving relationships allowing us to continue to live and grow. When these factors change due to starvation, a car accident, emotional abuse our bodies will change dramatically, manifesting as illness both physically and emotionally as the body is imbalanced. Issues can be buried down if they are too difficult to deal with and our energy field slows down.
Reiki can help balance the body on all levels Body, mind and Spirit. Man is Energy, Health is Energy in Harmony. Disease is disharmony.
Rei – Meaning Universal Life Energy, that surrounds all life around us.
Ki—Meaning Vital Life Force
Reiki—Vital Life force guided by the Universal Life Energy. So Universal and Personal
Reiki is a gentle but powerful hands on healing art, empowering our Physical, Mental and Emotion level to bring them back to balance, resulting in Optimal Health. Practised by people all over the world of all creeds and beliefs.

Page 5. The Reiki 5 Principles Pin It
To bring the spiritual depth into everyday life, Mikao Usui, the founder of the system of Reiki, created a set of five principles (or precepts). They can be found on his memorial stone in the grounds of the Saihoji Temple in Tokyo
– Just for today, do not worry– slow down, give yourself compassion, ground yourself.
– Just for today, do not anger– but release frustration, don’t suppress emotion, peel away the layers that are hurt.
– Just for today, be grateful- focus on all the positives in your life and not the fears, attract the same and not the later.
– Just for today, be honest-work with diligence– be your authentic wonderful self-be who you truly are, speak your truth- shine.
– Just for today, be compassionate and kind toward yourself and others, compassion rises above judgement and anger.
